Take a bite out of the Big Apple

I landed at JFK airport and crossed the Queensburrough bridge into Manhattan.  I was surprised to look up and see a train going across the sky, but this is new York and all things are possible.

New York-1

I checked into our hotel and then walked down Broadway

New York-8

and ended up at Times Square

New York-7

The next couple of days will be spent seeing Broadway plays, touring museums, walking in Central Park and window shopping on 5th Avenue.  I suspect there will be enough to keep us very busy.

Walk down Broadway

  1. I always wanted to live in New York City. Manhattan. But I got married and had kids instead. But if Tim takes off on me and I am not using a walker yet, I might just pack up and give it a try. Maybe I should just visit it first. Just a week or so first may be a better plan. (that's the kind of thinking that got me married in the first place and forget NYC.)
Going to cut out the baptismal gown tonight and Tim and I have decided to each knit a pair of socks a month for the next year. I have plenty of yarn for my socks but we had to hit The Knittery today for sock yarn for his socks. Also got deep pockets in my mouth (where the gums are receeding) filled this morning. I let the dentist do it instead of getting something off the shelf at the drugstore and doing it myself. The fun never stops. But buying yarn was fun because Tim let me do all the choosing. Saw Terri at the shop just looking around. She frogged two afghans and is going to make a new one. Being green. She probably would have bought tons of yarn if I hadn't showed up and said "If you frogged two afghans and are going to knit with that yarn, what the hell are you doing here?" She was watching the ladies knit around the table and we looked at yarn, then she left with us. Her with nothing and us with a double needle on order and $175 worth of yarn. And a book. That is also why I am not in NYC.
